ROLE: Individual Project
TIMELINE: Fall 2023
TOOLS: Figma, Photoshop
— 01 Introduction
For this project, my objective was to develop a high-fidelity prototype for a proposed app. The app had to focus on one of the following areas: sustainability, health and wellness, early childhood education, or augmented senses. The primary aim was to delve deeply into UX research and testing practices.

— 02 Research
Initially, I struggled to come up with a proposed product, not feeling connected to the available options. My goal was to create a design that would resonate with a broad potential user base. What could the answer be?
In the United States, about 79% of the population shops online.
Many of us shop online, yet we often encounter low-quality products that are harmful to the environment. Additionally, finding products from small business owners has become increasingly difficult. To gain further insights, I conducted interviews with 12 individuals.

— 03 Ideation
Concept: Design an online e-commerce platform where users can buy eco-friendly and sustainable products from small businesses.
Novel Features:
• Small Business Profiles: Detailed profiles for each small business, including their story, mission, and sustainability practices.
• Eco-Rating System: Ratings and reviews based on the environmental impact and sustainability of products.
• Search and Filter Options: Advanced search and filters to help users find products based on criteria like eco-certifications, materials, and ethical practices.
• Comparison Tool: Compare and contrast the quality, eco-rating, and price of similar products.
• Personalized Recommendations: Suggestions for products based on users' preferences and past purchases.
Once I came up with the app's general concept, I began with low-fidelity designs. This project involved two design phases: low-fidelity and high-fidelity. Throughout both phases, I conducted extensive user testing with potential users to gather feedback and improve the design.

Moodboards

Once I was satisfied with the wireframes, I started experimenting with different UI designs.
Design Iterations

After conducting tests with several potential users, I settled on a soft, organic theme featuring blue and green hues. This theme represents the eco-friendly & sustainable nature of the app.

Next Steps
• Test different design ideas to make the app look more professional.
• Flush out the prototype more.
Takeaways
• When designing an entire app, establishing a seamless user flow is crucial.
• Extensive research and testing make the design process more straightforward.
• Always test multiple ideas—you never know what might work until you try it.
